Seventy percent of luggage is black, so distinguishing your case with a bright tag can be invaluable when you’re at the carousel. However, they can easily become detached. Make sure you and your luggage end up in the same place by placing another inside your case.
If you’re unlucky enough to get an airport inspection, take away the hassle by lying pieces of cardboard between the layers when you’re packing. This means you can lift the dividers out so the contents can be examined with ease, with the added bonus of keeping your clothes flat, neat and organised.
Travelling in a couple or group? Consider splitting your belongings between the luggage; if a bag should go missing, you’ll still have all your essentials.
Think outside the box for packing ‘hacks’; a contact lens case is an excellent container for products like foundation or hair serum that you only need a little of. The complimentary shower caps in hotels make excellent shoe protectors, threading necklaces and bracelets through straws stops them tangling and an old eye drops container carries just the right amount of toothpaste for a week.
