London’s parks come alive in the summertime, from sunbathers to group games, everyone is out enjoying the sun… Here’s our selection of London’s best parks, you might want to try and visit them all. (Don’t forget your SPF)!
Hyde Park
London’s most famous Royal park, with millions of visitors each year; home to the Serpentine, Speaker’s Corner and the late Diana, Princess of Wales memorial fountain. There are a number of activities to do here, such as horse riding, a tennis and sports centre and boating in the Serpentine. Why not hire a Santander bike and cycle your way through? There’s plenty of pit-stops when you need a break!
Trent Park
Located in Cockfosters, on the outskirts of North London. This park is actually bigger than Hyde Park at 413 acres! If you like golf, you may have heard of Trent Park’s golf course, voted the #1 golf course in London! And it’s worth a visit. Go Ape tree top adventure park is also located here; a great activity for kids and adults!
Green Park
Is the smallest of London’s Royal parks, located next to Buckingham Palace. Take a nice stroll after visiting the Queen! Our tip is to pop into Marks and Spencer in Green Park station, get some nibbles and a nice drink and take it across the road to the park. This has served us well as an after work get together!
Regent’s Park
Home to ZSL London Zoo, central London’s largest outdoor sports centre and The Open Air Theatre. With this list, you’ll find plenty do here! Keep an eye out for London Zoo nights, where they host adults only after hour’s drinks, food and entertainment over the summer weeks.
Hampstead Heath
As one of the highest points in London, you’ll get one great view of the city! Don’t miss the internationally famous open-air swimming ponds, London’s only open-air swimming destination open to the public all year round…
These are our best parks; there are many other parks and lovely little green areas around London that are all worth seeing if it’s nice and sunny! There are plenty of small green areas close to Templeton Place and The Rosebery, please ask reception for their recommendations.
