London to Brighton… A day trip!
The London to Brighton Day Trip is probably the most obvious choice when looking for a day out to the sea side, but there’s a reason for that! In just a 2 hour drive or a 1h, 34min train journey, you can go from city to coast in the time it takes you to decide what to have for breakfast (maybe not that literally)! Below we share all the info that we think is worth knowing about this glorious day trip…
Getting there
The fastest route from central London is by train. In just under 1 hour from London Victoria, you can be in Brighton town in no time! The national express coach from Victoria is also a great cheaper option with tickets from just £5 and an overall journey of just 1h, 34min it’s a no-brainer!
What to do and see
You just can’t go to Brighton without visiting Riddle & Finns champagne and oyster bar. As the name suggests, they serve up world-class oysters, seafood and an extensive list f champagnes, the hard part is getting yourself out of there to enjoy the rest of the town…
Visit the Royal Pavilion, an exotic palace in Brighton’s centre, with a great history and beautiful Indian design. The Pavilion is an instantly recognisable gem and not to be missed with lots to do inside such as servant stories and amazing gardens to wonder around…
If you fancy travelling a little bit further, Hove (Brighton’s neighbour) is also another great town to see, in just a 10 min drive, 5 min train journey or a nice 30 min stroll in the summer sun, you will reach this lovely little town full of cafes, shops and funky bars and restaurants.
Finally… Most of us go to Brighton for one thing and that’s to the pier and it never disappoints, no matter how many times you go there. You can’t go wrong with some fresh and chips while looking out to sea, followed by a stick of rock or a nice warm fresh doughnut and a play in the arcade!
