Get Creative at Home: 5 ideas to add an artistic touch during lockdown
At Supercity, we love art, and each property features an eclectic mix from both local and international artists alike.
With extra time on your hands during lockdown (or perhaps not if you’re a busy parent!) we’ve created a few of our favourite ways to add some colour to your walls during lockdown.
So, pull out those old paint samples, make use of those old frames and get creative!
Frame a fabric or wallpaper sample
Aside from making face masks with fabric samples, why not frame a textile or create a gallery wall using several swatches of fabric. We particularly like Liberty fabric bundles for their beautiful patterns.
Geometric art with tape
Geometric art has seen somewhat of a revival in recent years and you’ll find a swathe of graphic geometric prints on popular websites including etsy.com and iamfy.co to name a few. Create your own geometric masterpiece using low tack masking tape for a professional finish.
Rustic chic with wood
For a bohemian look, why not use a wood board as your canvas. Wooden boards also make a great option when the children are involved due to their durability. Make sure you check the type of wood and use appropriate paint/ treatment to make it last.
Easy clipboard display
This option is easy-peasy! Print out your favourite quotes or sayings in creative typography and hang them up with clipboards. Use different sizes and styles of clipboard and even add some photos or sketches for a truly personalised wall.
Paint Dipped Artwork
Give a modern look to those vintage paintings that you’re no longer in love with by dipping them in paint. Use masking tape to create a clean line or have fun and paint directly on them.
